Analysis:

With the survivor series finally coming to an end the Yorkton Terriers finally know who their Quarter-Final opponent and it is...the Notre Dame Hounds who defeated the Nipawin Hawks 3-1 in one Wild-Card Series.

The Terriers are coming into this first round series, on a little roll playing some great hockey down the stretch. In goal the Terriers have probably SJHL's Goalie of the Year in between the pipes in Kale Thomson who has been outstanding all season long with his 31 victories and SJHL record 8 shutouts. The Hounds might not have the experience as the Terriers do in goal but 18 year old's Alexi Thibedeau and Brett Soles have done their job in between the pipes to put the Hounds to where they are at.

On the backend, its no stranger that the Terriers have the best backend maybe not in the SJHL, but all of Canada led Chase Norrish who had a breakout season, and definitely is the leading candidate for the league's Top defenseman . You add his twin brother Brady, Captain Devon McMullen, newcomer Tanner Lischynsky, Dallas Rossiter and Dylan Baer that's a very experienced and deep blueline. For the Hounds Kale Derkson  and Brandon Kuse on the backend are steady and reliable while rookie defenseman and Rookie of the Year Spencer Trapp has impressed the whole league with his poise and offensive ability.

Up front, it might be where the Terriers improved on the most from last years Canalta Cup team. You get a healthy Tayler Thompson who finishes near the top of SJHL scoring and showed the fantastic skill he possesses, you sprinkle in sniper Brett Boehm who has been on fire since joining the Terriers, a healthy Tyler Giebel has returned and is playing better than ever. Then you got your sandpaper with guys like Kailum Gervais, Daylan Gatzke and Dylan Johnson that's a deep forward unit.
