Terriers book their ticket into the SJHL Semi-finals with 7-1 Game 5 Victory over Hounds.

The Yorkton Terriers have punched their ticket into the SJHL's Final Four on Friday night with a big 7-1 home ice victory in Game 5 over the Notre Dame Hounds to win the Best of 7 Quarter-Final series 4 games to 1.

Brett Boehm got things going in the first period, and took the monkey off his back and got his 1st of the series to give the Terriers an early 1-0 lead after 1 period.

The Terriers would come out with a dominant 2nd period, as Tayler Thompson and Brady Norrish would both notch Terrier goals and get their 1st goals of the playoffs respectively to give the Terriers a 3-0 2nd period lead. But just 16 seconds later the Hounds would show some life as Brandon Kuse would get his 2nd goal of the playoffs to cut the Terriers lead to just 3-1. But Tyler Giebel would notch one more for Yorkton before the 2nd intermission break to regain the Terriers a 3 goal lead at 4-1 after 40 minutes.

The Terriers would never look back as they would add 3 more markers for good measure off the sticks of Dylan Johnson, Daylan Gatzke and Jordan Ross to lead them to a 7-1 Game 5 clinching victory.

Terriers dman Chase Norrish (pictured above) added 3 more assists to his point total and now is tied for 3rd in league playoff scoring with 7 points.

Kale Thomson turned aside 25 shots for his 4th victory of the playoffs while Alexi Thibedeau made 32 saves in a losing cause.

The Terriers' opponent is still to be determined in the Semi-Finals, it will either be the Melfort Mustangs or the Humboldt Broncos, that Quarter-Final series is tied at 2-2. Game 5 is tomorrow (Sat) in Melfort, Game 6 Sunday in Humboldt and Game 7 (if necessary) will be Tuesday night at the Northern Lights Palace in Melfort.

Also the other Semi-Final was set, as the Battlefords North Stars defeated the Estevan Bruins 2-1 to win their series 4-1. The North Stars will now battle the Melville Millionaires in Semi-Finals.
