The Yorkton Terriers have pushed the defending champion Nipawin Hawks to the brink of elimination after winning Game 4 on Wednesday night, 5-2 at the Farrell Agencies Arena.
The Terriers would get off to their best start of the series as just 4:35 in, Mason Mullaney would add his 4th goal in as many games on the PP to get out in front 1-0. Then two goals just 24 seconds just under 4 minutes later Chantz Petruic and Quin Hobbs would give the home-side a 3-0 lead and that would draw a goalie change from the Hawks as Declan Hobbs was pulled after allowing 3 goals on 10 shots. Before the 1st intermission would come the Hawks cut their deficit to just two once again as Walker Cote would hammer home a rebound off a Jaxsen Wiebe shot and would get it past Ryan Ouellette for his 2nd of the series to make it 3-1 after 1 period.
In the 2nd, the Hawks add some good chances at the beginning of the period but just didn't get the results and it would be Yorkton getting the only marker as Colby Brandt would capitalize on a Hawks' turnover at the Terrier blue-line and he would go in one beat Patrick Pugliese five-hole to make it a 3 goal lead after 40 minutes.
Josh Lester would cut the Hawks within two once again as he would chip it past Ouellette for his 1st SJHL playoff goal but in the end it would Colby Brandt wrapping up a big night icing the game with his 2nd of the night into the empty net to give the Terriers their 3rd straight win.
Terriers goaltender Ryan Ouellette improved his record to 5-2 in the playoffs after making 32 saves on 34 shots. Meanwhile Hawks starter Declan Hobbs was pulled after allowing 3 goals on 10 shots and he was relieved for Patrick Pugilese who was solid stopping 29 of 30 shots.
