Terriers lose in OT in Game 2 to the North Stars; Stamps' fall to Pistons in Game 6 on Saturday night

The Yorkton Terriers are now down 2-0 in their Best of 7 SJHL Semi-Final after falling 1-0 in overtime to the Battlefords North Stars on Saturday.

Quin Loon-Stewardson ending the game as his wrist-shot snuck through Ryan Ouellette with 8:23 left in the 1st overtime period to lead the North Stars to their 3rd extra time victory in these playoffs.

Both goaltenders were very good, Joel Gryzbowski making 40 saves to earn the shutout in the Battlefords net while Ryan Ouellette turned aside 41 of 42 shots in the loss.

The series will now shift back to the Farrell Agencies Arena in Yorkton on Tuesday and Wednesday for Games 3 & 4.

In the other SJHL Semi-Final,

Carson Albrecht had the GWG as Melfort took a 2-0 series lead after a 3-1 victory over the Estevan Bruins.

In the MJHL Playoffs,

The Swan Valley Stampeders had a chance to book their ticket into their first MJHL Finak, but Steinbach netminder Matt Radomsky had other ideas.

The Pistons goalie made 57 saves to help them stave off elimination on Saturday night defeating the Stamps 3-2 in Game 5.

Riley Vautour scored twice while Tyson McConnell had the other for the Pistons who will host Game 6 of the series on Monday night back in Steinbach.

Josh Tripp had both goals for the Stamps while Merek Pipes turned aside 28 shots in the loss.

We will broadcast the game on Monday from Steinbach with Yorkton Dodge Junior Hockey, pregame kicks off at 7:20 with the PXP happening at 7:30PM MB time from the T.G Smith Center.
